Chenoa regresa a Operación Triunfo en Prime Video con galas más reducidas.

Amazon's streaming service, Prime Video, has unveiled the new edition of 'Operación Triunfo' in Madrid, which will be presented by Chenoa. "I'm coming home," said the Balearic artist, who admitted to being "super nervous". The flamboyant presenter of this 12th edition of the talent show, which will have 90-minute weekly galas and a daily program on Prime Video to review and comment on each day in the Academy, exclaimed, "It will be evident that I have affection for the program where I was born as an artist."

"Our entire team is super excited. 'Operación Triunfo' has everything we're looking for in Prime Video's original productions," says María José Rodríguez, director of original productions for Amazon Prime Video in Europe. Tinet Rubira, director of Gestmusic, added, "Once again 'OT' will make history, we will be the first to carry out a live broadcast of an entertainment program for 14 weeks. I am excited and happy because the whole world is watching us."

The casting process for the new edition of 'Operación Triunfo' will take place in nine Spanish cities (Barcelona, Zaragoza, Santiago de Compostela, Bilbao, Valencia, Las Palmas, Málaga, Seville and Madrid) starting on July 3rd and ending on September 19th, with a break at the end of July "for voting," said Noemi Galera, director of the Academy.

All 'OT 2023' casting sessions can be seen on Prime Video's YouTube channel and, before the first gala, the streaming service will broadcast two pre-show specials featuring the pre-selected candidates for entry into the Academy.

"'OT' has fans who are a bit 'taliban' and who do not like us to change things a lot, so we keep the hardcore clef of teachers. Noemí Galera will repeat as Academy Director; Manu Guix as Musical Director; Mamen Márquez as voice coach and Vicky Gómez as the ultimate choreography director. "The other teachers will be new faces," said Rubira, who announced that the other members of the faculty will be confirmed soon.

In addition to achieving a more global dimension derived from its transition from linear television to streaming and "taking advantage" of the multitude of technological tools that the Amazon environment puts at their disposal, another of the great novelties of this new edition of 'Operación Triunfo' will be the duration of the galas, one and a half hours. Therefore, they will be significantly shorter than in previous editions, despite retaining the "very fair and democratic" mechanic of elimination from previous editions and the already mythical catwalk.

"This is what fans have asked us for, to make things go quickly, as they want to go to bed early. We will focus solely on the music and who stays or goes. That's what we want," said Rubira, who stressed many times that in this space, the opinion of the fans is very significant and "does not fall on deaf ears". "We listen to fans, the songs come from fans' requests. We read everything and pay close attention to people," he insisted.

With this series, Chenoa closes the circle by returning to the program that made her a star after her debut in the first edition in 2001. In fact, the artist attended the presentation dressed in the same trousers she used for the casting of 'OT1'. "In addition, they fit me and bell-bottom trousers have returned in style," she joked.

Although her career owes much to her musical success, the television industry is by no means unfamiliar to her. She has been a member of the jury of another musical talent show, 'Tu cara me suena', for six years and has also participated in programs such as 'Zapeando', 'Likes', 'La Noche D' or 'Celebrity Bake Off España', also on Prime Video.

Chenoa now faces the challenge of presenting a program alone, being guided by two maxims: "first, obey those who command and then rely on my naturalness, which is what makes me connect with people." "Now I can't be someone the public doesn't know because people already know me. I'm very gestural and I'm very colloquial," she warns.

"I know there's pressure, and I'm going to be super nervous, but I'm not going to hide it. It will show, just like the affection I have for the program where I was born as an artist," says Chenoa, who claims to be prepared for criticism. "I grew up when there were no social networks, but I'm already quite used to it," she concludes.

'Operación Triunfo' premiered in 2001 on La 1 of TVE and became a national phenomenon, with the final of its first edition still the most-watched moment on Spanish television. 'Operación Triunfo' will be the first weekly content to be launched on Prime Video in Spain and will also be broadcast in about thirty Latin American countries.
